Bangkok Birthday
Gavin celebrated his 26th birthday just a few weeks ago. But this wasn't just an ordinary birthday that comes around once a year. This my friends was his golden birthday. It only happens once in a lifetime, so I made it my mission to make memories that last a lifetime.
This called for something big. So we went big... big in Bangkok! The weekend started at our first stop: Shanghai Mansion. A very fancy hotel in Chinatown. Over-the-top accommodations are not us but I think Gavin liked being called 'sir' all weekend. After all, he's old now.
Sure, we walked the streets and saw the sights but our Saturday night in Bangkok took the (birthday) cake. We went to a Muay Thai fight. Let's just say, its definitely not a sport for the squeamish spectator. These fighters were young and dangerous.
We finished our weekend with a trip to the legendary shopping market right inside the city. I'd like to think we brought his 26th year in the right way.
Happy Birthday.... Sir!

Koh Samet, Thailand
We have a 60-something year old friend who we like to call Mr. Allan and Pattaya is his playground. We often visit him so we can be reminded that our parents generation is well, cooler than us. When we can't keep up with his lifestyle... we make day trips.
Here's one to Koh Samet:
